SMHP is 95% owned by KF Fjellsikring AS (Norway) and 5% by PT. Bangun Guna Graha as the local partner in Indonesia. The initial investment for the hydro power project is US$ 17 million.
"This project is a very important project for both Norway and Indonesia, and we do sincerely hope that Manipi HEPP will be a strong milestone for the upcoming cooperation between the two countries in many other fields", the Norwegian Ambassador to Indonesia Eivind Homme said in his speech at the opening ceremony.
The Manipi/Tangka 10MW hydro power plant will contribute to the need for electricity in the Sulawesi region, and will also stimulate the local economy by creating jobs and opportunities for the local community.
