Strømmen er 220 volt. Stikkontaktene varierer, men mange er som i Norge. Timor Telecom bygger ut mobilnettet, men det er kun dekning i hovedstaden og i distriktshovedstedene.
En kan ikke regne med at en kan benytte kredittkort. Betaling kreves som oftest kontant i amerikanske dollar. En kan benytte kredittkort til uttak av amerikanske dollar i bankautomater i hovedstaden og den nest største byen Baucau.
