The Indonesia Programme

The Norwegian Centre for Human Rights at the University of Oslo conducts trainings on Human Rights.

Since 2002, the Indonesia Programme has run projects aimed at contributing to the protection and promotion of the basic rights of Indonesian citizens, as set out in international human rights treaties. The Programme cooperates with state institutions, universities and civil society organisations in Indonesia.

The present working areas include:
- Human rights education at universities
- Human rights in relation to the role and conduct of the armed forces
- Economic, social and cultural rights
- Administration of Justice
- Freedom of religion or belief.

The Indonesia Programme is fully financed by Norway. For 2008 the budget is approximately 800,000 USD.
