UGM is planning to expand their cooperation with UiA and other Norwegian universities. The Embassy has provided UGM with a fund of approximately USD 144.000 to carry out a multidisciplinary research and curriculum development for students interested in the REDD+ initiative. The research focuses on challenges in land use and land tenure in Katingan District of Central Kalimantan the REDD+ pilot province under the Indonesian-Norway Partnership. Faculties and students from Department of Political science, Law, Forestry, Economy and Anthropology are taking part in this research project while being supervised by a professor from UiA and UGM.
