Short term visit visa

The application must be submitted in person to the Embassy representing the Schengen country targeted as the main purpose of the journey or for the longest stay. A Schengen visa issued by an Embassy or Consulate of one of the Schengen countries allows the holder to travel freely in the above countries. However, please note that a holder of a Schengen visa is still subject to immigration control and is not guaranteed entry into any of the Schengen countries; a visa is not itself a right to enter a country. If you are planning a trip to Svalbard, note that you need to apply for a two entry Visa as Svalbard is not part of the Schengen area. Applications have to be submitted well in advance, as processing the application takes minimum 10 working days.  A visa fee equivalent to Euro 60 must be paid upon submission of an application.  The fee must be paid in cash in Rp at the Embassy’s official exchange rate at the time of applying.

The visa application procedure can be started maximum 3 months and minimum 2 weeks in advance prior to your departure date.

Mandatory Schengen Travel Insurance

In March 2004 the EU Council in Brussels decided to implement as from June 1st, 2004 a mandatory travel insurance as a precondition for visa issuing.

In principle this means that a visa applicant has to submit, together with his visa application for a short stay in the Schengen member states, proof of a valid personal or collective travel insurance covering:

Expenses for repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical care and/or urgent treatment in a hospital.

The minimum value of the mandatory travel policy is determined at Euro 30,000.

Insurance premiums for these policies are charged by the insurance company and not by the diplomatic or consular representation

Do not buy this insurance before your visa application has been approved.
